Preparation of Android environment (Windows)

        Everyone says android android nowadays. Myself also like to explore it. So
that I can add one more technology in my profile.  As part of that today im configuring
android environment in my machine. Here it is,


System Requirements :
 
·         Computer 
·         Windows XP (32-bit), Vista (32- or 64-bit), or Windows 7 (32- or 64-bit)
·         Eclipse 3.5 (Galileo) or greater 
·         JDK 5 or JDK 6 (JRE alone is not sufficient)
·         Android SDK
·         Android Development Tools plugin  
 
Installing the SDK Starter Package :
 
·         Download the SDK from http://dl.google.com/android/installer_r12-windows.exe 
·         Install
 
Configuring ADT plug-in :
 
·         Download the plug-in from http://dl.google.com/android/ADT-12.0.0.zip
·         Don’t unzip
·         In Eclipse add a repository using archive 
·         After installation Window à Preference àAndroid à click Proceed 
·         Browse and locate the downloaded SDK 
 
Adding Platforms and Other components :
 
·         On completion of SDK installation wizard, it will prompt the Android SDK & AVD manager 
·         Click install and accept the recommended set of components
·         AVD manager now will download the essential SDK components to your environment
